Course Outline
Cur síos Bheadh an cúrsa seo oiriúnach do dhaoine ar féidir leo comhrá i nGaeilge a choinneáil ach a cheapann go bhfuil a stór focal teoranta; nó dóibh siúd ar mhian leo feabhas a chur ar a gcruineas sa Ghaeilge labhartha agus scríofa. Bheadh an meánrang lán-oiriúnach d’éinne atá ag ullmhú le haghaidh agallaimh ina mbeadh an Ghaeilge mar riachtanas proifisiúnta. Ar aon dul leis an mbunrang, leagfar béim ar an nGaeilge labhartha ar an gcúrsa seo. Múinfear gramadach na Gaeilge de réir mar a oireann sé d’ábhar an ranga. Bunófar an cúrsa seo ar shiollabas B1 de Theastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (T.E.G.), forbartha ag Ollscoil na hÉireann, Má Nuad. I dtreo dheireanach an chúrsa, beidh an rogha mic léinn clárú le haghaidh scrúduithe Th.E.G. chun cáilíocht atá aitheanta go hidirnáisiúnta a bhaint amach nó gan clárú le haghaidh na scrúduithe ach muinín agus spéis nua-shealbhaithe a thabhairt leo ag deireadh an chúrsa. Bronnfar teastas tinnrimh orthu siúd a fhreastalaíonn ar ar a laghad 80% de na ranganna. Más mian le hiarrthóir tabhairt faoi scrúdú T.E.G. bheadh táille scrúdaithe i gceist anuas ar tháille an chúrsa thuas.
Description This course would be appropriate for people who can hold a conversation in Irish but who feel that their vocabulary is limited or for those who wish to improve their accuracy in spoken and written Irish. The intermediate course would be ideally suited to those preparing for an interview where Irish is a professional requirement. Similar to the beginners course, the emphasis of the course will be on spoken Irish. Elements of grammar will be taught in context. This course will be based on the B1 syllabus of Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (T.E.G.) which has been developed by NUI Maynooth. Towards the conclusion of the course students will have the option to register for exams to achieve internationally recognised certification or may decide not to sit exams and take with them a new-found confidence and interest in Irish at the end of the course. On completion of the course a certificate of attendance will be presented to those who have attended a minimum of 80% of classes. There is a supplementary examination fee for those who choose to undertake T.E.G. examinations.
